The club runs scores competitions on all playing days and these are split between the winter months and the summer months.
Other internal competitions are run from time to time such as the Saxons 3-ender
We run a singles Challenge ladder.
We occasionally play friendly matches
There are various local competitions that individuals or teams can enter
Some members join Petanque England (PE) and have access to extra regional and national competitions

Saxons Crusaders in the 2025 season are in Division 2 out of 3 divisions after relegation
The teams in Division 2 are Saxons (1) Crusaders, Saxons Warriors, Upton Saints, Cricklade Woodpeckers, Cricklade Magpies and Gotherington
Saxon Warriors are in division 2 after gaining promotion

Saxon Warrior’s v Saxons Crusaders Wednesday 30th April 5pm at the Leisure Centre: It was 1 - 1 after the triples and then Crusaders won 2 of the 3 doubles
so Warriors lost 2-3 to Crusaders
CPC Woodpeckers v Saxons Warriors on Sunday 11th May10am at Cricklade Hotel: Warriors won the 2 triples comfortably. In the doubles 2 comfortable wins and
one loss so Warriors won 4-1 so a very good result.
Crusaders v Upton Saints on Sunday 18th May at the Leisure Centre: Crusaders didn’t play that well and managed 1 win to lose 1-4.
Saxon Warrior’s v Upton Saints on Thursday 22nd May at the Leisure Centre: After the triples it was 0-2 to Upton. In the doubles Warriors managed to win 2 so
losing 2-3 overall.
CPC Magpies v Crusaders on Wednesday 28th May at Cricklade Hotel: After the triples it was 1-1. Crusaders then won all the doubles to win 1-4.
Saxon Warrior’s v CPC Magpies on Tuesday 10th June at the Leisure Centre: After the triples it was 1-1. In the doubles Warriors didn’t manage to win any so
losing 1-4 overall.
CPC Woodpeckers v Crusaders on Wednesday 18th June at Cricklade Hotel: Crusaders won both triples. Crusaders then won all the doubles to win 0-5.
Gotherington v Saxon Warrior’s on Saturday 5th July at Gotherington: After the triples it was 1-1. In the doubles Warriors did well to win all 3 so winning 1-4
overall.
Saxon Warrior’s v CPC Woodpeckers on Wednesday 16th July at the Leisure Centre: Warriors won both the triples. In the doubles Warriors then went on to win all
the games so winning 5-0 overall.
Upton Saints v Crusaders on Sunday 20th July at Upton: Crusaders lost both triples. Crusaders then also lost all the doubles to lose 5-0.
Crusaders v CPC Magpies on Wednesday 13th August at the Leisure Centre: Crusaders played well and won 3-2, The final game was 12-12 and Crusaders got the
point to win the match.
