External Competitions List Completed GWR or other competitions: Gotherington Invitational Doubles competition on 24th April 2022 Results = 7th were Nobody Cares, Jenny and Pete = 10th were I’ve No Idea, Liz and Keith 18th were Saxonish, Maureen and Kevin. Liz Cosham and Pete Chambers entered the GWR Doubles competition on 29th May held at Cricklade Hotel and Spa. They ended up runners-up in the Bronze section of the playoffs. Jenny Clabon and Pete Chambers entered the GWR Mixed doubles competition on 12th June and ended up in the Gold (top) section of the afternoon knockout section and were beaten by the eventual runners-up in the final. Upcoming GWR or other competitions: 3rd July: GWR Triples with 1 entry so far of Sheila Karran, Charles Faulkner and Pete Chambers. 16th July: 2 entries are in the Sherston Festival of Boule. Team 1: Jenny Clabon, Liz Cosham and Pete Chambers. Team2: Ian Savage, Mike Fidler and Alan Shepherd. 31st July: GWR Over 55 Doubles with 1 entry so far of Jenny Clabon and Pete Chambers.
• The club runs a summer scores competition on Tuesday afternoons, Thursday afternoons and Saturdays mornings. • We also run an identical but seperate competition over the winter months. • There is the annual Eileen Mitchell memorial competition. • Other internal competitions are run from time to time. • There are various local and national competitions that individuals or teams can enter. • Some members join Petanque England and have access to regional and national competitions.
